Associated Food Stores Improves Inventory Position With JDA Software

Scottsdale, AZ: JDA Software Group, Inc. has announced that Associated Food Stores, the leading regional cooperative wholesale distributor supplying groceries and consumer products to almost 600 independently owned supermarkets in eight Western states, is successfully utilizing JDA Software solutions to decrease inventory levels, improve turns and service levels and enhance planner productivity.

Associated Food Stores realized that a strong competitive advantage lies in delivering the highest quality products at competitive prices. In order to achieve success in every phase of its operation, the company looked to the support of JDA’s Advanced Warehouse Replenishment by E3 solution.

“Last year was one of the best years we’ve ever had. Over a six-month period, we’ve seen an increase of service levels over two percent. At the same time, we’ve decreased our inventory levels over $1.4 million on a weekly average. It’s incredible,” notes Todd Bell, inventory management team lead, Associated Food Stores.

Associated Food Stores continues to leverage and optimize JDA Software’s Advanced Warehouse Replenishment solution in order to maintain its position as a market leader. By considering forecasted demand, current inventory levels and safety stocks, Advanced Warehouse Replenishment helps the company create a synchronized replenishment system all the way from the vendor, through the distribution center and ultimately to the store.

Advanced Warehouse Replenishment enables Associated Food Stores to reduce costs by eliminating unnecessary inventory orders. It also allows the company to maintain optimal levels of inventory within the company’s DCs while managing product groups and service levels.
